Ok, sorry if this is the dumbest question in the world but.
while Harry was dueling with Voldy, what the heck did Voldemort mean when he
said.."your MUGGLE Mother".. shouldn't that be mud blood? Lily was a witch
with muggle parents right?? sorry, but even my husband who only knows about
Harrys wizard world from what he sees in the movies questioned that comment.
Ok, what am I missing??
Thanks in advance for any info.

I heard it as mudblood.. but guess I will have to see it again and pay
closer attention. As many of us who have seen it here, some more than
just once or twice, no one has mentioned that yet. So it's possible it
was misunderstood..?

I wouldn't be surprised if he did say 'Muggle mother'; he does say
something similar in the book.

'You stand, Harry Potter, upon the remains of my late
father,' he hissed softly. 'A Muggle and a fool ... very like
your dear mother. But they both had their uses, did they not?
[Voldemort, GoF-33 'The Death Eaters']

I've always thought that for Voldemort the difference between Muggle
and Muggle-born is irrelevant -- both are so low that it doesn't
matter if one is lower than the other.

I'm due to see the film Saturday (I'm not in any particular hurry),
so I can't have any opinion on what is being said, but I would think
that having Voldemort say 'Muggle' about Lily would be a correct
interpretation of his attitude towards her.

He did say "muggle" - I remember thinking "No, that's wrong."

True, but it does confuse the movie-only fans still more.

Voldemort ~definitely~ said "muggle" as Mazz supposed; it was an insult.

I hope we're not in for the same 'Avada' controversy as with movie 2.

Didn't we have something similar with "Prisoner" with regards to the comment
the shrunken heads in Hogsmeade said?.....Was it Fat-heads, thick-heads,
dick-heads?.....

Sorry, I don't follow. Are you talking about the movie, or the books?
