It bothers me when people nickname Victoire Weasley "Tori"...which may be
acceptable for a "Victoria",but makes no sense as an abbreviation for a
French name that is pronounced "Vic-TWAHR".

Anyone here share this feeling?

Not very different from "Les Mis" fans nicknaming Eponine "Pony" (and
indicative of the same misplaced stress, I imagine.) And of course,
we've already suffered through "Mione"...
