Well the subject says it all.. Cedric's father also reminds me of
Cedric's uncle in The Magicians Nephew. The Cedric in The Magician's
Nephew, is very like Harry Potter as well. So whatcha' think?

That's called a "resonance". There are certain character types and
patterns of relationship that show up over and over in stories.

I believe that Rowling acknowledges Lewis as one of her inspirations.

NOrmally, writers use to take a lot from all their experiences, including
books they have read once.

Oh, that makes a lot more sense. I found myself wondering, "There was a
Cedric in the Magician's Nephew?" Thanks.

...Now that I know who "Cedric's" uncle is, I think that's a little hard
on Cedric Diggory's father. Wanting his son to outshine Harry is a far
cry from being an self-absorbed, evil magician.

Yes of course your right, his name isn't Cedric, but never the less, I
just noticed the similarities.

Cedric's father in the harry potter series, is the picture of
self-absorbed, self-important, we are holier than thou, ex cetera. In
other words, a real ass, and he likes to make sure everyone is properly
aware of that fact too. At least when it comes to Harry Potter, he
seemed to do a good deed telling Mr. Weasley about Moody in GOF. This
is of course just my view on him. Cedric, on the other hand, was a good
person, must have taken after his mother.
