Poor chap! It does remind me of Alec Guinness -- one gathers that
Griffths had a long and respectable stage career (Shakespeare and all
that), but to the headline writers he will always be associated with the
hit film in which he had a bit-part...

Actually I remember him well from the quirky Pie in the Sky TV series.
