I still don't fully grasp the significance of Snape calling himself the
HBP? Why is it such a big deal that it warrants naming the book after it?

Thanks

I'm not sure the titles always reflect the most important element in the
book -- just the one that makes for a nice resounding name. For example,
the Goblet of Fire really doesn't have much of a part to play in the
eponymous novel: it might more accurately have been entitled "Harry
Potter and the Triwizard Tournament". (Which would have made a perfectly
good name, so I don't know why they didn't use it...)

Was his father a Muggle King? Given his Death Eater affiliations, Snape must be very mortified to have Muggle ancestry!

or

Coretta Scott [1], Billie Jean [2], Carole [3] or Augusta Ada [4]

were all "Kings" and not "Queens"

it was a surname

Did the other Death Eaters tease him about being a half-Blooder?

I think according to Arthur Weasley (IIRC) that would be the "pot calling the
kettle black"

It was my impression that most of the DEs were indeed pure blooders. Are you saying that they faked their birth certificates?

Given that Voldemort was also halfblood do you think they would?

No just that they all have muggle blood "somewhere" in their history, as no
doubt all muggles have some witch/wizard blood in their history, that's the
only way that a witch/wizard could be born to muggle parents
