if he could become an animagus could he turn into the animal before
the full moon and not change

only down side i can think of is that maybe the animagus form may be
more dangerous than the wolf if he looses his mind in animal mode
(lion,tiger,bear,rabbit!)

or what would happen if someone were to transfigure him before the
full moon
heck turn him into a bouncing ferret and keep himm bouncing till dawn

We've learnt that giants can't be stunned so easily, dragons are resistant
everywhere but the eyes, so I am betting a werewolf couldn't be so easily
dealt with.

*snurk*

knowing what we do of lupin's personality, i just bet he *would* turn
into a rabbit if he were an animagus...

They'd have an awful mess to clean up, when his meals resurface.

What would happen if Lupin fled moonrise by globetrotting, portkey or
time-turner?

I'm not sure JKR would permit time-turners to take you on a round trip
to the past -- we only ever see one-way excursions -- but if round trips
could be undertaken, could Lupin export his transformed days to the
summer break, sparing the students all lupine risk?

He might be in danger of splinching -- full moon time seems hard on him.
I'd've thought DD would assign a house elf to guard him once a month...

As the self appointed Altantic Canadian Chairperson for S.P.E.W, I
would like to remind you that house elves have rights and 'assigning'
one to a Werewolf is inappropriate. This will have to be addressed at
the next international meeting.

Irrelevant. Lupin had the happy Wolf Potion. There was no danger.
Sirius as Snuffles was more dangerous to Ron.

A token danger only, yet with really awful consequences; for the students,
for werewolf public relations, and for DD's reputation.

And back in Lupin's student days he was doing it with no potion.
A guard would have been smart thinking back then, too.

If DD knew the Marauders were springing Lupin for the night,
then DD was really foolish to trust 'em to keep Lupin out of trouble --
since kids often take foolish risks, and never count the costs.

The most charitable assumption I can make is that DD either didn't trust the
house elves to do a proper job of guarding Lupin, or felt they were too
scatterbrained to keep Lupin's secret over a period of many years.

im pretty sure his personality suggests he would be a wolf animagus. so i dont think becoming an animagus would be a smart idea. although, it might overwrite his werewolfness due to it being a wolf... so idk.
