When Voldemort sought to kill Harry Potter on Oct 31, 1981, he first killed James, then Lilly got between him and Harry, offering herself in Harry's stead. Voldemort tried to persuade Lilly to get out of the way, (seeking to spare her at the request of Snape), but she refused. He then killed her, but her love protected Harry.

Why didn't Voldemort just Stupify Lilly, or paralyze her, or hoist her up in the air?

Solution for Voldemort: Just do a memory charm on Lilly to make her forget about James and Harry, then induct her into Snape's harem.
