Closer yet is Americas last birthday! She is near death from apathy and
fools who think the Government tells the truth.

While your first sentence will always be true - regardless of how long
it will take to get there - It is interesting that you would choose a
time when a race for president has energized the public and set records
for new voter registration as "Apathy".

AS far as fools who think the government tells the truth - all
governments (And religions that were rulers) keep secrets. It is a lot
harder today for governments to hide lies for long - due to the ever
vigilant press - and new ways of discovering information. Governments
today cannot just close down the media if they want - and really cannot
control what gets printed in the way they could only 50 years ago.

That may be good or it may be bad. For instance - would FDR have been
elected President if everyone knew he was crippled?

ALL Governments are liars.
If you want an example of ludicrous lies and the pea-brains that believe
them - read The Guardian or Independent (should be called the Islamacist,
this one) or listen to the BBC.
Laughable thing is - the ones who quote them believe THEY are
"intellectuals" !

Well, in 1932 the Democrats could have nominated Mickey Mouse and it
would have gotten them the White House.

This is odd to read considering my grandmother's name is America. And,
although she's 93, she still have few more birthdays to celebrate! She's
full of energy!!
